O Lord, You endured countless insults from those who betrayed You, but each day You liberate souls from the chains of the ancient foe. You did not turn away from the disgrace and contempt, yet You cleanse souls with the waters of salvation. You accepted Your scourging in silence, and through Your meditation, You rescue us from perpetual punishment. You faced every form of mistreatment, yet You desire to share with us the eternal glory of angelic choirs. You did not refuse the crown of thorns, yet You deliver us from the wounds of sin. In Your thirst, You drank the bitter gall, but You prepare to fill our hearts with everlasting joy. You remained silent before the mockery of Your executioners, yet You intercede for us with the Father, even though You share in His divine nature. You came to experience death, yet You are the source of Life, sent to bring it to those who are dead.Amen.
