Prayer To Amend One's Ways

O Lord Jesus Christ, our Master, You have borne our sins with patience and were nailed to the tree that gives life. You provided a path to paradise for the repentant thief and overcame death through Your own dying. We ask You to pardon the wrongs committed by us, Your unworthy servants. We have indeed sinned and violated Your law. We are not worthy to raise our eyes to heaven, for we have strayed from Your way of holiness and chased after our own desires. Yet, we plead for Your boundless mercy. Have compassion on us, O Lord, in the abundance of Your grace; deliver us for the sake of Your most Holy Name. Our lives have been filled with vanity; rescue us from our adversary and forgive our transgressions. Bring our fleshly desires under control, that by discarding the old self, we may don the new and live for You, our Lord and Benefactor. By following Your commandments, may we attain eternal rest in the realm where the blessed dwell; for You are indeed the Joy and Delight of all who love You, O Christ our God. We offer You glory and honor, to Your eternal Father, and to Your all-holy, gracious, and life-giving Spirit, now and always, and forevermore.Amen.
