Prayer To Be Joined With Christ In Death

O Lord, your grieving Mother stood near your Cross; grant us the strength in our troubles to partake in your sufferings. Just as the seed sown in the earth has yielded the fruit of eternal life for us, help us to be always dead to sin and fully alive to God. Shepherd of all, even in death you were concealed from the world; guide us in cherishing our hidden spiritual life with you and the Father. As the new Adam, you descended to the dead to free all the righteous who awaited; may all who are lost in sin hear your call and rise to new life. Son of the living God, through baptism you have permitted us to be buried with you; may we also rise with you in baptism and live a renewed life.Amen.
