Prayer To Christ In His Passion

With united hearts, let us cry out, Lord, have mercy. You, who were led like a lamb to the slaughter, Lord, have mercy. You, who gazed down from the Cross upon Your Mother and beloved disciple, look down with compassion upon us from Your heavenly throne, Lord, have mercy. You, who redeemed the world through the shedding of Your blood, Lord, have mercy. You, who entrusted Your spirit into the hands of the Father, Lord, have mercy. By Your Cross, grant us the gift of forgiveness, Lord, have mercy. Christ, the only Son of the eternal Father, who was offered up for us this day, the innocent for the guilty, remember the cost of Your blood and erase the sins of all Your people; and as You willingly endured for us shame, spitting, bonds, blows, scourging, the Cross, the nails, the bitter chalice, death, the spear, and finally burial, grant to us, the miserable ones, for whom You suffered these torments, the boundless joy of the heavenly kingdom, so that we who humbly honor Your Passion may be lifted to heavenly joys in the glory of Your resurrection.Amen.
