Prayer To Jesus On The Cross

O Jesus, for countless ages you have remained upon the Cross, yet many walk past you in complete indifference, only to wound your Sacred Heart once more. How often have I failed to notice you, oblivious to your intense sorrow, your many wounds, and your boundless love. How frequently have I come before you, not to bring you comfort or solace, but to hurt you through my actions or in my neglect, disregarding your love. You have reached out your hands to console me, yet I have taken those hands, which could have led me to condemnation, and forced them back upon the Cross, fastening them there, leaving you in helplessness. All I have achieved is etching my name upon your palms for eternity. You have embraced me with an unwavering love, and I have exploited that love to sin against you even more. My ingratitude has only served to pierce your Sacred Heart further, causing your Precious Blood to flow down upon me. O Jesus, may your Blood rest upon me, not as a curse, but as a blessing. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world. Have mercy on me.Amen.
