Prayer To Our Lady Of Perpetual Help

Behold, O Mother of Perpetual Help, at your feet kneels a miserable sinner who turns to you in trust. O Mother of mercy, show compassion to me; I hear everyone call you the refuge and hope of sinners: be my refuge and hope as well. Assist me in love for Jesus Christ; extend your hand to lift up a fallen soul who places himself in your care and chooses to be your servant forever. I praise and give thanks to God for His immense mercy, which has granted me this trust in you, a sure sign of my everlasting salvation. Truly, I lament that in the past I have fallen so terribly because I failed to seek your help. I know that with your support I will triumph; I am confident you will aid me if I turn to you. Yet, I worry that I may forget to call upon you in times of temptation, and thus I might be lost. This grace I ask of you; I implore you as best as I can, that in the battles against evil, I may constantly seek your protection and call out to you: Mary, help me; Mother of Perpetual Help, do not let me lose sight of God. Say the Hail Mary here... O Mother of Perpetual Help, grant me the ability to always invoke your powerful name, for your name is a source of aid for the living and salvation for the dying. O most pure Mary, sweet Mary, let your name be my very breath of life from this day forward. Dear Lady, do not hesitate to come to my aid whenever I call upon you; in all the trials I face, in every need that arises, I will continually turn to you, always repeating: Mary, Mary. What comfort, sweetness, confidence, and tenderness fill my heart at the mention of your name and the thought of you! I thank our Lord who, for my sake, has given you such a lovely, powerful name. Yet, I desire more than just to speak your name; I want to proclaim it out of love for you, for my wish is that love continually reminds me to call upon you, Mother of Perpetual Help. O Mother of Perpetual Help, you are the channel of every grace God bestows upon us in our need; this is why He has made you so powerful, rich, and kind, to assist us in our troubles. You are the advocate for the most wretched and lost sinners if they only approach you; come again to my aid, for I commend myself to you. Into your hands, I entrust my eternal salvation; I place my soul in your care. Count me as one of your most devoted servants; shelter me under your protection and that will suffice for me: indeed, if you watch over me, I will fear nothing: neither my sins, for you will secure for me their forgiveness; nor evil spirits, for you are mightier than all the forces of hell; nor even Jesus, my Judge, for He is appeased by a single prayer from you. My only dread is that through my own lack of attention, I might forget to commend myself to you and thereby be lost.
