The prayer

JOYFUL MYSTERIES The Annunciation The Archangel Gabriel visits the Virgin Mary, announcing that she will bear the Son of God, the Word made Flesh. Throughout history, Jesus will be present in the Holy Eucharist to sustain us in profound communion with Him. We intercede for all priests and religious who daily, through the consecration during Mass and in Holy Communion, deliver the Body and Blood of Christ to us. We pray for all future priests and religious currently formed within their mothers' wombs, that they might be shielded from any physical or spiritual harm, and brought to life as God desires. We pray for all upcoming generations of priests and religious. We also ask that they might cherish the sacred gift of celibacy. The Visitation Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth, who acknowledges Mary as the living sanctuary of their Divine Lord. We especially pray for priests and religious who bring Holy Communion to the sick, isolated individuals, and Viaticum to those who are dying. We pray for everyone who supports the sick in various ways, offering counsel, comfort, and consolation. The Nativity of Jesus In Bethlehem, Jesus is born. The angels proclaim His arrival; kings and shepherds come to worship Him. We pray that all seminarians and novices deepen their knowledge and love of God, growing to be holy priests and religious. We particularly pray for those about to be ordained or professed, that they may remain faithful throughout their lives to the immense privilege of being “other Christs” in our midst. We ask that all may come to appreciate the Eucharistic Feast as one of God’s greatest gifts to us. We pray that every servant sees themselves as a member of the Holy Family, a genuine son of Mary and Joseph, and a brother of Jesus, our great High Priest. The Presentation in the Temple Mary and Joseph, following the Law's requirement, bring Jesus to the temple for dedication to God. Simeon gives thanks to God for allowing him to recognize the Messiah before his death. We express gratitude to God for all priests and religious who, like Simeon, have dedicated decades to faithful service. May they be rewarded for their generosity and self-denial. We also pray for all those whose hearts are heavy with loneliness, depression, and rejection. Finding Jesus in the Temple Jesus is found among the teachers in the temple; He returns home, showing obedience to Mary and Joseph. We pray that priests and religious can always be found attending to their Father’s work, and that they remain obedient to the Church's teaching authority, our Holy Father, and the bishops in unity with Him. We pray that the love and commitment they experience in their early service expands as time goes on. We pray for all who teach the Faith to both children and adults. SORROWFUL MYSTERIES The Agony in the Garden As the Apostles sleep, Jesus, in deep anguish contemplating His upcoming passion and death, sweats blood; angels come to comfort Him. We pray for all priests and religious who endure suffering on their way to Calvary, that they may find solace in God’s presence. We also pray for those who have betrayed or denied their Faith out of weakness, that they may repent and return to God’s loving embrace. We pray that all will strive solely to fulfill our Father's will, as Jesus always did. Jesus is Scourged Jesus is harshly scourged and beaten by the soldiers. We pray for priests and religious who face persecution, whether physical or psychological, and those who are imprisoned or unable to serve the Lord. We remember those living under oppressive regimes. Jesus is Crowned with Thorns Jesus is ridiculed as king, with His sacred Head cruelly pierced by thorns. We pray for priests and religious who endure suffering in defense of the true Catholic doctrine. We pray that all leaders uphold the true teachings of the Catholic Church, resisting the urge to compromise doctrine due to cultural or social pressures. Jesus Carries His Cross In pain, bleeding, and weary, Jesus is compelled to carry Himself and His cross up Calvary’s height. We pray for those who bear heavy burdens; for the weak, lonely, or those who have strayed from God’s grace in any form. We also pray for the Holy Father, who may bear the heaviest of burdens: the widespread persecution and neglect directed at the Church from within and outside. Jesus Dies on the Cross Jesus gives His final drops of Precious Blood to redeem us from sin and death. We pray for priests and religious in their last moments, and for those who will die today. We also pray for those who long for the salvation of souls. We ask that their surrender of will may fulfill God’s purpose for the salvation of the entire world. May they accept Mary into their hearts, just as St. John the Apostle, one of the first priests, welcomed her into his home. THE GLORIOUS MYSTERIES The Resurrection Jesus rises from the dead and appears to the Apostles. At times, priests and religious may face despair and sadness when they perceive little result from their efforts. We pray that they will always remember that the Crucifixion precedes the Resurrection; darkness is always followed by Light. May all share in the joy of the Risen Christ. The Ascension Jesus guides His Apostles and returns to His Father in Heaven. We pray that priests and religious will faithfully carry out Jesus' commission to evangelize the world, teaching and baptizing countless souls. We also pray for missionaries who, living in utter poverty and hardship, bring the Gospel to all nations. The Descent of the Holy Ghost The Holy Ghost descends upon the Apostles gathered with Mary. We pray that priests and religious remain receptive to the gifts of the Holy Ghost, empowering them in leading souls to God and inviting God into people's lives. We pray they may be zealous in converting even the most hardened of sinners, spreading God’s love throughout the world. The Assumption The Angel Gabriel announces to the Virgin Mary that she will become the Mother of God, the Word incarnate. In eternity, Jesus will be made flesh in the Holy Eucharist to sustain us in the closest union with Him. We pray for priests and religious to be devoted to Mary, finding in her the love and nurturing of a mother, the formidable intercession of our greatest saint, and a reliable refuge against Satan and his troops seeking to undermine their ministry. The Coronation Mary is crowned as Queen of Heaven and Earth; she is honored for her unwavering fidelity to God. We pray that Mary, Queen of Clergy and Religious, serves as a model of faith and joy, guiding them consistently until they arrive in Heaven, where a crown adorned with the many souls entrusted to them on the day of their dedication will be their treasure for devoted and loving service.
