Poverty as a Path to Holiness Choosing to embrace a life of poverty, you joined the Third Order of St. Francis, further dedicating yourself to the poor. This profound act illustrated your understanding that true wealth lies in selflessness and in uniting oneself with those who suffer. O beloved Elizabeth, in your choice of humility and service, you demonstrated the richness of a life devoted to God. Guide us to shed our attachments and embrace a life of poverty in spirit, remembering that our true treasure is found in loving others.
