In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Founding the Society of Jesus In 1534, Ignatius and a small group of companions took vows that would establish the Society of Jesus. This order dedicated itself to serving the Pope and promoting education and spirituality worldwide. Ignatius’ vision for an active faith, deeply integrated with service and mission, laid the foundation for Jesuit work that continues to flourish today. O St. Ignatius, as you founded the Society of Jesus, grant me the courage to commit to my call. May I serve others with the same love and dedication you fostered in your companions. Teach me to live for the greater glory of God in all that I do. Inspire me to serve my community with passion and humility. Instill in me a fervent spirit of service.
