Leading the Siege of Orléans At merely 17 years old, Joan led the French army to lift the siege of Orléans, a pivotal moment in the Hundred Years' War. Clad in armor, she became a fierce symbol of hope, rallying soldiers with her faith and courage. This remarkable act redefined the role of women and inspired her countrymen to reclaim their dignity and loyalty toward their sovereign. O St. Joan, inspire in us the bravery to stand up for what is right. Just as you led your troops to victory against overwhelming odds, grant us the strength to confront our own challenges. May we always carry within us the hope you instilled in those you fought for. O St. Joan, intercede for us that we may find courage in our battles.
