St. John Bosco Novena - Day 9

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Saint John Bosco, father and teacher of youth, in need of special help, I appeal with confidence to you, for I require not only spiritual graces, but also temporal ones, particularly (mention request here…) May you, who on earth had such great devotion to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and to Mary Help of Christians, and who always had compassion for those who were suffering, obtain from Jesus and His Heavenly Mother the grace I now request, and also a sincere resignation to the Will of God. Saint John Bosco, pray for us! Our Father Hail Mary Glory Be In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. My family had moved to a new country and we didn’t realise how the primary school examination system worked - or just how much preparation children undertake for these very competitive exams. With only a couple of months to go we threw ourselves into study - but we were trying to do in weeks what many children spend months or even years preparing for. Through prayers addressed to St John Bosco and to Mary, though, I discovered peace in my heart and learned to place the exams in perspective - to see that what was important was our son’s growth in knowledge and wisdom towards manhood, not performance on a single test. And then, as a further blessing, he did very well, despite the lack of preparation on the part of his parents. So - great gratitude to Dom Bosco and Our Lady. Answered prayers, in every way. from T.H.
