In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Defending the Faith During the Iconoclastic Controversy, John courageously defended the veneration of sacred images through his influential writings. In a time of challenge, he reminds us of the importance of standing firm in our beliefs. O St. John, brave defender of the sacred images, grant us the strength to defend our faith against misunderstandings and adversity. May we, too, hold fast to the truth of our beliefs as you did, inspired by your unwavering commitment to God’s honor. Help us articulate our faith with wisdom and love.
