St. Martin of Tours Novena - Day 1

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The Cloak of Charity Tradition remembers the moment Saint Martin encountered a beggar in Amiens, moved by compassion to share half of his cloak. This act of profound charity, though simple, became a defining moment in his life, leading him to fully embrace the Christian faith. Through this gesture, Martin exemplified the call to love one’s neighbor, revealing how small acts of kindness can echo deeply in the hearts of others. O St. Martin, compassionate saint, who selflessly shared your cloak in the cold, inspire us to see Christ in the poor and to share our blessings. Help us to recognize the needs around us so we may extend our hands with love and generosity. May your example lead us to compassionate action in our own lives. Intercede for us, dear St. Martin, as we seek to embody your spirit of charity in our intentions.
