The Monastery at Ligugé In founding the monastery at Ligugé, St. Martin established one of the earliest centers for Christian life in France. This sanctuary became a beacon of prayer and asceticism, nurturing the faith of many and embodying his commitment to a simple, devoted life. It reminds Christians today of the importance of community in spiritual growth. O St. Martin, who built the monastery at Ligugé as a refuge for the weary and a haven for prayer, may we cultivate spaces of peace in our own lives. Help us to foster communities rooted in love and prayer, where faith can flourish abundantly. Pray for us, St. Martin, that we may contribute to building nurturing environments of faith in our homes and hearts.
