The Foundation of the Passionists In 1737, St. Paul founded the Congregation of the Holy Cross, designed to promote devotion to the Passion of Christ. This community dedicated itself to a life of poverty, chastity, and obedience, inspired by the same fervor that fueled Paul’s mission. His commitment serves as a model for living in community centered on a common purpose. O St. Paul of the Cross, founder of the Passionists, grant us the strength to build communities grounded in faith and love. Help us to encourage one another and draw closer to Christ through shared devotion and service. May our lives reflect the joy of your mission, uniting us in love for the Passion.
