In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Embracing Penance Inspired by St. Catherine of Siena, you took on severe penances, even as your family urged you to cease your austere practices. You chose fasting and a crown of thorns to unite your sufferings with Christ, teaching us the power of sacrifice in pursuit of holiness. Your life exemplified a profound commitment to atonement for both yourself and the world. O St. Rose of Lima, your heart burned with the desire for holiness through penance. Help us to embrace our own sacrifices joyfully, seeing in them a path to deeper union with Christ. May we learn to offer our hardships as gifts to God. Through your intercession, may I willingly accept trials as opportunities for spiritual growth.
