St. Thomas Aquinas Novena - Day 9
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. St. Thomas Aquinas, patron of students and Catholic schools, I thank God for the gifts of light and knowledge he bestowed on you, which you used to build up the Church in love. I thank God, too, for the wealth and richness of theological teaching you left in your writings. Not only were you a great teacher, you lived a life of virtue and you made holiness the desire of your heart. If I cannot imitate you in the brilliance of your academic pursuits, I can follow you in the humility and charity which marked your life. As St. Paul said, charity is the greatest gift, and it is open to all. Pray for me that I might grow in holiness and charity. Pray also for Catholic schools, and for all students. In particular, please obtain the favor I ask during this novena. (mention request here…) Suppose a person entering a house were to feel heat on the porch, and going further, were to feel the heat increasing, the more they penetrated within. Doubtless, such a person would believe there was a fire in the house, even though they did not see the fire that must be causing all this heat. A similar thing will happen to anyone who considers this world in detail: one will observe that all things are arranged according to their degrees of beauty and excellence, and that the nearer they are to God, the more beautiful and better they are. Creator of all things, true source of light and wisdom, origin of all being, graciously let a ray of your light penetrate the darkness of my understanding. Take from me the double darkness in which I have been born, an obscurity of sin and ignorance. Give me a keen understanding, a retentive memory, and the ability to grasp things correctly and fundamentally. Grant me the talent of being exact in my explanations and the ability to express myself with thoroughness and charm. Point out the beginning, direct the progress, and help in the completion. I ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. I wanted to thank the intercession of St. Thomas Aquinas through this novena for helping me study, learn and understand the concepts of theology that I had to elaborate on for my graduate studies in theology. This was for the final exam and by the grace of God, through the intercession of our Lady and St. Thomas Aquinas, I aced the test. Thank you Jesus, thank you Mary and thank you St. Thomas Aquinas. For the greater glory of God, from W.C. St Thomas Aquinas answered my prayer, my son was accepted to 1 university & 1 college. from M.C. I got a scholarship when I was in senior high school. from M.C.
