Table Blessing For Holy Thursday

Reading: As He revealed divine truths to His friends, Jesus, the embodiment of God's wisdom, sets a table that nourishes the soul, mixing for the faithful the cup brimming with eternal life. Therefore, let us approach this sacred table, our hearts pure, to receive the Bread of Life. Let us stay close to our Master, witnessing how He humbly washes the feet of His disciples, drying them with a towel, and let us follow His example by serving one another in love. For this is the commandment given by Christ Himself to His followers (Byzantine Matins). Responsory: Verse: Come, O faithful, let us relish the master's hospitality, Response: and share in the feast of everlasting life in the upper room. The Lord's Prayer Blessing Lord Jesus Christ, out of deep love for Your apostles, You chose to celebrate the Passover with them on the evening before Your passion. In the midst of that meal, You established the sacrament of the Eucharist, offering us Your own Body and Blood as the bread and wine that feed our souls. Bestow Your blessings upon this table and upon all who gather around it. Sustain us with the Bread of Life, till we are called to the eternal banquet in Your kingdom.Amen.
