The Lord Forgives

Blessed are those whose transgressions are pardoned, whose sins are taken away. How joyful are those to whom the Lord does not charge with wrongdoing, in whose hearts there is no deceit. When I kept my wrongs to myself, I felt my strength diminish; I groaned throughout the days, for your hand weighed heavily upon me, and my vitality faded like the summer heat. But I have come to recognize my wrongdoings; I did not conceal my faults, and I declared, "I will make my confession to the Lord." And you, O Lord, have pardoned the debt of my sin. Therefore, let the faithful seek you in their times of trouble. Though the waters rise, they will remain steadfast. You are my refuge, O Lord; you rescue me from my troubles. Celebrate and be glad in the Lord, rejoice, all you who are righteous! Sing out your joy, you who are pure of heart.
