The Motorist's Prayer

O Lord, grant me a steady hand and vigilant sight, that no one may suffer harm as I drive past. You are the giver of life; I ask that my actions do not endanger or diminish that precious gift. Keep safe, dear Lord, those who travel with me, shielding them from fire and other dangers. Help me to use my vehicle to serve the needs of others, and may I never be so rushed that I overlook the beauty of the world around me; in this way, I can travel with joy and respect. St. Christopher, holy protector of all who journey, watch over me and guide me safely to my destination.
