The Prayer Be Sorry For Sins

O my God, I wish to avoid the eternal separation of hell. I am aware that my numerous sins merit such a fate. Please aid me in overcoming my offenses. I desire not to lose my soul to eternal anguish, devoid of joy, estranged from You forever. Assist me in understanding that I must also atone for my lesser faults, and that even if I evade hell, I still owe recompense for all sin, to be fulfilled in purgatory. Grant me the strength to perform true penance, that I may lessen my purgatorial suffering before my death. O my God, I recognize that I have not rendered to You the service that I owe for countless reasons. I have misused Your incredible gifts, offending You, who are so good and so worthy of love. I have sinned in Your sight, bringing sorrow to Your Heart while You gazed upon me with infinite love. I have been blind and ungrateful, putting the love of created things before You, my Creator, who, being supremely good and worthy of affection, deserves all my devotion; I have sought my own pleasure rather than adhering to Your will. Forgive me, O my God, for all the sins I have committed throughout my life. I sincerely regret them and detest them deeply, for they offend You. I implore You, speak to me, 'Your sins are forgiven.'
