The Prayer Preparation For Death

O most compassionate Lord Jesus, through Your agony and the sweating of blood, through Your precious death, we earnestly ask You to spare us from an unexpected and unprepared death. O gentle Lord Jesus, through Your painful scourging and the humiliation of the thorny crown, through Your holy Cross and bitter suffering, and by Your boundless love, we humbly request that You do not allow us to depart this life without the comfort of Your holy Sacraments. O beloved Lord Jesus, through all Your toil and grief, through Your Precious Blood and sacred wounds, and by those last words You spoke upon the Cross: "My God, my God, why have You abandoned Me?" and those words: "Father, into Your hands I commend My spirit," we fervently plead with You to protect us from sudden death. Grant us, we pray, the opportunity for repentance; grant us a blessed passing in Your grace so that we may love, praise, and bless You eternally.Amen.
