The Prayer Renewal Of Confirmation

All: Let us sing the hymn Veni Creator (Come Holy Ghost). Father: Reads the scripture from the Mass of Whitsunday [Acts 2:1-11] and the passage from the Mass of Whit-Tuesday [Acts 8:14-17]. All: Let us sing a hymn. All: (Prayer for the Reception of Confirmation): I am grateful to You, O Lord, for all Your boundless goodness, and especially for the love You have manifested towards me during my Confirmation. I thank You for sending down Your Holy Spirit upon my soul, gifting me with His abundant graces and blessings. May He take complete control of my life eternally. May His divine anointing radiate through me. May His heavenly wisdom dwell within my heart. May His understanding dispel my ignorance. May His guidance direct my path. May His knowledge enlighten my spirit. May His piety fill me with zeal. May His holy fear keep me safe from sin. Cast away from my soul, O Lord, anything that might tarnish it. Grant me the strength to be Your devoted soldier, that after fighting valiantly for my faith, I may receive the crown of eternal life, through the merits of Your beloved Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ.
