The Prayer 'Teach Us To Love'

Lord, we express our gratitude for the abundant love we receive, for the affection of family and friends, and most importantly, for Your unfailing love that sustains us every day in radiant glory. We ask for Your forgiveness for our shortcomings. We repent for the times we have let down those who care for us, for failing them, exhausting them, and bringing them sorrow. In failing them, we have failed You, and in hurting them, we have wounded our Savior who died out of love for us. Lord, have mercy and forgive us. You remain faithful to those who love You, never changing or wavering. Teach us to embody Your unwavering love, humility, selflessness, and generosity. Please gaze upon our small and flawed attempts at love with compassion, safeguarding, nurturing, and strengthening it, so that it may be more worthy to offer to You and to Your children. O Light of the world, guide us in how to truly love.Amen.
