The Prayer You Are Christ

You are the Messiah, my Holy Father, my Gentle God, my Majestic King, my Kind Shepherd, my Only Master, my Greatest Helper, my Most Lovely and Cherished One, my Living Bread, my Eternal Priest, my Guide to my homeland, my True Light, my Sacred Sweetness, my Direct Path, my Marvelous Wisdom, my Pure Simplicity, my Peaceful Balance, my Total Protection, my Gracious Portion, my Everlasting Salvation. O Christ Jesus, Sweet Lord, what has driven my love? What in my entire life could I possibly desire other than You, Jesus my God? Where was I when my spirit was not united with You? Now, henceforth, let all my yearnings ignite and flow towards the Lord Jesus: rush… you have delayed until now; hurry to your destination; seek the One you long for. O Jesus, may those who love You not face condemnation; may those who cherish You be free from bitterness. O, Sweet Jesus, may every affectionate thought worthy of Your praise love You, rejoice in You, and worship You! God of my heart and my Portion, Christ Jesus, may my spirit weaken with longing to have You dwell within me! May the burning ember of Your Love ignite within my soul and burst into a perfect flame; may it burn continuously on the altar of my heart; may it illuminate my innermost being; may it blaze within the hidden places of my soul; and in the time of my fulfillment, may I be found united with You!Amen.
