The Renewal Of The Baptismal Promises

act
The prayer

I, N. N., through the loving mercy of the Eternal Father, have had the blessing of baptism "in the name of the Lord Jesus" [Acts 19, 5] and thereby partake in the honor of his Divine Sonship. Now, in the presence of this same caring Father and his only-begotten Son, I wish to sincerely renew the commitments I made during my holy Baptism. Thus, I again renounce Satan; I reject all his deeds; I forsake all his temptations. I trust in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who entered this world, suffered, died for my sins, and rose again. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Having been buried with Christ through death and raised with Him to a new existence, I commit to living no longer for myself or for this world that opposes God, but for Him who died for me and rose again, serving God, my heavenly Father, consistently and until death within the holy Catholic Church. Guided by our Savior's instruction and shaped by the word of God, I dare to pray: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.Amen.
