Bertulf of Renty

St. Bertulf of Renty was born in the early 11th century in the region of modern-day Belgium, into a noble family that possessed both wealth and influence. From a young age, Bertulf displayed a keen inclination towards spirituality, often retreating to prayer and reflection, drawn by a yearning for a deeper relationship with God.

Determined to dedicate his life to the service of God, Bertulf chose to become a monk. He joined the Benedictine monastery of Renty, where he embraced the monastic way of life wholeheartedly.
