Bibiana Khampai

Bibiana Khampai was born in the early 20th century in the region that is now known as Myanmar. Growing up in a predominantly Buddhist culture, she was raised in the Catholic faith by her parents, who instilled in her the values of compassion, service, and a strong relationship with God. The Khampai family was dedicated to their faith, often gathering for prayer and attending Mass together.

Bibiana’s martyrdom occurred when she was captured while witnessing to her faith. She faced brutal interrogations and threats, yet she maintained a profound peace rooted in her trust in God. In the face of violence, she chose to forgive her captors and prayed for their souls, demonstrating an extraordinary love that mirrored Christ’s own. Her final days were a testament to her unshakeable faith; she continued to proclaim the Gospel even when her life was in danger.
