Carlo Liviero

St. Carlo Liviero was born on January 14, 1887, in Intramonti, Italy. From a young age, he exhibited a profound sense of compassion and a desire to serve those in need. Growing up in a humble environment, Carlo's early experiences fostered a deep empathy for the poor and marginalized, shaping his future vocation. He entered the seminary and was ordained a priest on June 29, 1910. His commitment to the Gospel and to aiding those who suffered became a defining hallmark of his ministry.

Carlo began his pastoral work in various parishes, but it was during his appointment as the parish priest of San Giuseppe in the city of Palermo that his legacy truly began. Known for his approachable demeanor and genuine warmth, he quickly became a beloved figure in the community. Fr. Liviero tirelessly worked to uplift the spirits of the impoverished and neglected, organizing charitable initiatives and providing food and shelter for those who struggled to survive. In 1945, Carlo Liviero's health began to decline. He passed away on June 22, 1962, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion. St. Carlo Liviero was beatified by Pope John Paul II on April 23, 1995, recognizing his life of virtue and dedication to the poor.
