Catherine of Bosnia

Catherine of Bosnia was born around 1460 into the noble family of the Kosača, rulers of the region of Herzegovina. Growing up in a time of political upheaval, she was deeply influenced by her family's commitment to the Catholic faith. Her upbringing instilled in her a profound sense of duty to her people, which later defined her reign as queen.

Catherine became the queen of Bosnia through her marriage to King Stefan Thomas in 1475. As queen, she took her role seriously, focusing on the spiritual and physical wellbeing of her subjects. Known for her piety, Catherine was deeply devoted to the Church and actively promoted Christian values throughout her kingdom.
