David Uribe Velasco

David Uribe Velasco was born on September 25, 1865, in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, Mexico. He grew up in a deeply religious family that instilled in him the values of faith and service. From a young age, David felt a strong calling to the priesthood, and after completing his studies, he was ordained a priest on April 20, 1891. His ordination took place in the midst of the challenges that faced the Church in Mexico during the late 19th century—a period marked by political strife and anti-Catholic sentiments.

Father Uribe served in various parishes across Mexico, dedicating his life to the spiritual and social needs of his parishioners. Known for his compassionate spirit and commitment to evangelizing, he focused particularly on the marginalized in his community. He was deeply involved in catechesis, guiding people of all ages in the faith, hoping to foster a strong Catholic identity within his congregation.
