Giovannina Franchi

Giovannina Franchi was born on March 25, 1867, in a small town in Italy, into a devout Catholic family that nurtured her faith from a young age. The daughter of a humble farmer, she understood the importance of hard work, prayer, and community involvement. Her early life was shaped by the example of her parents, who lived in a deep relationship with God, instilling in Giovannina a fervent desire to serve Him and others.

At the age of sixteen, she felt a profound calling to religious life and decided to enter the convent, joining the Sisters of Charity of Saint Jeanne Antide Thouret. Embracing her new life, she took the name Sister Maria Giovannina and devoted herself to the values of humility, charity, and service. Serving primarily in orphanages and schools, she was passionate about helping those in need, especially children who were marginalized and requiring guidance.

Her dedication to the service of others was exemplary, often spending long hours in prayer and reflection.
