Jacobus de Voragine

Jacobus de Voragine was born around 1230 in Varazze, Italy, a coastal town near Genoa. He joined the Dominican Order and distinguished himself through his deep spirituality and commitment to research. In 1260, Jacobus was appointed as the bishop of Genoa, where he actively engaged in pastoral duties and the administration of his diocese.
