Jacques Bonnaud

Jacques Bonnaud was born in France in the late 17th century, joining the Society of Jesus, commonly known as the Jesuits. Motivated by a fervent desire to spread the Gospel, he was among those who answered the call to serve as a missionary in the New World, particularly in Haiti, where he arrived around 1684. His journey exemplified the spirit of the Jesuits, who were deeply committed to education and evangelization.

Settling in Haiti during a tumultuous time, Bonnaud immersed himself in the local culture and the challenges facing the Haitian people. His dedication was not only to preach but also to serve those in need, offering support in times of hardship.
