Jænberht

Jænberht, also known as Æanberht, served as the Archbishop of Canterbury during a pivotal time in the early medieval Church in England. Born around the late 7th century, he became a key figure in promoting Christianity among the Anglo-Saxons. Little is known about his early life, but Jænberht was chosen to lead the archdiocese following the tenure of Archbishop Theodore of Tarsus, who significantly shaped the ecclesiastical structure in England.

Jænberht's elevation to the archbishopric occurred sometime around 660 AD, when the Church was still establishing its roots in a land steeped in pagan traditions.
