Jules Chevalier

Jules Chevalier was born on March 15, 1824, in a small village in France. He came from a humble background, growing up in a family deeply rooted in Catholic faith. As a young boy, he felt a stirring in his heart toward the priesthood, inspired by the examples of faith and service around him. His desire to serve God and others led him to enter the seminary, where he cultivated a profound spirituality and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the Church.

After his ordination in 1851, Father Chevalier served in various parishes in the diocese of La Rochelle. In 1854, he founded the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, a religious congregation aimed at embodying and sharing the unconditional love of Christ.
