St. Margaret Mary Alacoque
Margaret Mary Alacoque was a French Visitation nun whose mystical visions in the 1670s spread worldwide devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. By tradition, Christ appeared to her twelve times, sharing what are now called the Twelve Promises associated with the devotion. She was canonized in 1920.
