Mattia Ciccarelli

Mattia Ciccarelli was born in 1660 in the small village of Civitella in Italy. From a young age, Mattia exhibited a profound sense of spirituality and a yearning for a deeper relationship with God. At the age of sixteen, yearning for a life dedicated to God and service, she joined the convent of the Daughters of Charity, where she took on the name Sister Mattia. Her decision was not only a commitment to her faith but also a response to the call of her heart to help those in need within her community. In the convent, she immersed herself in prayer, embraced the virtues of humility and charity, and dedicated her efforts to educating young girls, catering to their spiritual and moral formation.

Sister Mattia quickly became known for her extraordinary kindness and her ability to connect with the children and families in her care.
