Pierre-René Rogue

Pierre-René Rogue was born on June 6, 1797, in the small town of Héric, located in the region of Loire-Atlantique, France. Growing up in a devout Catholic family, Pierre-René developed a deep love for the Church and a desire to serve God from a young age. His early education was rooted in strong moral and spiritual principles, which he carried with him throughout his life. After completing his studies at the seminary, he was ordained a priest in 1820. His vocation was not merely a profession but a profound calling to help others and spread the message of Christ.

Upon his ordination, Rogue began his pastoral work in various parishes, where he quickly earned a reputation as a compassionate and dedicated priest. He was particularly known for his commitment to the poor and marginalized members of society, believing that true faith manifests in acts of service. Tragically, Pierre-René Rogue's life was cut short on November 2, 1868, when he was assassinated while performing his duties.
