Pietro Gambacorta

St. Pietro Gambacorta was born in Pisa, Italy, in 1340 into a noble family. From a young age, he exhibited a deep devotion to God, often spending time in prayer and contemplation. His early life was marked by the turmoil of the era, with the aftermath of the Black Death and its pervasive anxiety shaping the spiritual landscape of his youth.

Choosing to devote himself fully to God, Pietro entered the Dominican Order at the age of 23.
