Lent
The season of conversion and preparation, walking together toward Holy Week. Ash Wednesday, St. Joseph, the Annunciation, and into the sacred Triduum.
This season’s great days are Joseph Spouse of Mary (Mar 19), and Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord (Mar 21).

Forty days of prayer and fasting
Lent is forty days of conversion — prayer, fasting, and almsgiving — walking together toward Holy Week and the great Triduum that follows.
Beginning on Ash Wednesday, the season carries St. Joseph and the Annunciation before it gives way to Palm Sunday and the holiest days of the year. It is a season to simplify, to give something up, and to make more room for prayer.
