Fireman's Wife Prayer

The table is set, the meal awaits, and soon our guests will be here. My husband departs once again, hoping to save a life, a duty so dear. As I sit here waiting, plans derailed and delayed, my first instinct is to weep, to feel the heartache invade. Yet as I reflect, I grasp my role's true worth; for I chose to be a fireman's wife, embracing my place on this Earth. Though challenges abound, I shall face them with grace, knowing our children can proudly say, "My Daddy made a difference in this place." The fierce winds and wild flames might claim his life one day, but with God's strength, I vow to stand by my fireman's side, come what may.
