Mary Stewart's Prayer

Guard us, O Lord, from all triviality. Help us to think, speak, and act with bigness of heart. Let us leave behind any inclination to criticize and abandon all selfish desires. May we cast aside any masks we wear and encounter one another openly, free from pity and bias. May we practice patience in our assessments and embrace a spirit of generosity. Allow us to make time for all aspects of our lives and cultivate calmness, gentleness, and serenity within us. Teach us to act on our better instincts, to be honest and unyielding in our courage. Help us recognize that it is the small actions that create divides, while in the grander scheme of life, we are united. And, O Lord God, may we always remember to show kindness!
