O Divine Prisoner in the sanctuary, You, who for our sake and salvation, enclosed Yourself in the limitations of human existence and concealed Yourself beneath the appearances of the Sacred Species, yet constantly reside within the tabernacle! Listen to our supplications that ascend to You from these confines, yearning to show our love, express our sorrow, and reveal our deep need for You in our struggles, particularly in the anguish of lost freedom that weighs heavily upon us. For some, there may be a voice deep within, affirming our innocence, suggesting that we are victims of unfortunate judicial mistakes leading us here. In such instances, we find solace in recalling that You, the most noble of all martyrs, were condemned despite being innocent. Conversely, we may find ourselves bowing our heads in humility to mask our shame, beating our breasts in acknowledgment of guilt. Yet, even in this state, we have the refuge of casting ourselves upon You, confident that You comprehend all faults, forgive every sin, and graciously restore Your grace to those who sincerely seek it. Lastly, some among us may feel the weight of recurrent sin throughout our lives, leading even the most trusting hearts to doubt us, and we ourselves might struggle to embark on the path of renewal. Nevertheless, within the quiet recesses of our hearts, a voice of hope reassures us with Your promise of aid through Your light and grace if we desire to change for the better. May we, O Lord, always remember that times of testing offer a precious opportunity for spiritual growth, for embracing the highest virtues, and for gaining the greatest merits. Let not our wounded hearts be tainted by despair that numbs all joy or by the distrust that extinguishes brotherly love and opens the door to harmful advice. May we continually hold in our minds that no one, in taking away our physical freedom, can strip us of our spiritual liberty, which during these long moments of solitude can reach out to You to deepen our knowledge and love for You each day. Grant, O Divine Savior, comfort and resignation to our loved ones who grieve our absence. Bestow peace and tranquility upon this world that has cast us aside, yet whom we still regard with love and to which we pledge our commitment as responsible citizens in the future. Let our hardships serve as a constructive lesson for many souls so that they may be safeguarded from the perils of following our misguided path. But most importantly, grant us the grace to have unwavering faith in You, to hope in You with filial trust, and to love You: Who, together with the Father and the Holy Spirit, reigns forever and ever.
