Psalm 142

psalm
The prayer

Listen, O Lord, to my prayer; give heed to my plea in Your truth; listen to me in Your righteousness. Do not bring Your servant to judgment, for in Your eyes, no living person can be justified. The adversary has pursued my spirit; he has crushed my life into the ground. He has caused me to dwell in darkness like those long dead, and my spirit is troubled within me; my heart is heavy. I recall the days of old, pondering all Your deeds; I reflect on the works of Your hands. I lift my hands to You; my soul longs for You as a dry land longs for water. Answer me quickly, O Lord, for my spirit is failing. Do not hide Your face from me, or I will be like those who descend into the abyss. Let me hear Your mercy in the morning, for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go, for I lift my soul to You. Rescue me from my enemies, O Lord; I take refuge in You. Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God. Let Your good Spirit guide me on level ground; for the sake of Your name, O Lord, revive me in Your righteousness. Bring my soul out of distress, and in Your mercy, put an end to my foes. Cut off all who afflict my soul, for I am Your servant. Glory be...
