July
High summer in Ordinary Time. July keeps a great company of saints — Thomas the Apostle, Benedict, Mary Magdalene, the parents of Our Lady, and Ignatius of Loyola to close the month.
July’s great days are Thomas Apostle (Jul 3), Mary Magdalene (Jul 22), and James Apostle (Jul 25).

Keeping July at home
St. Benedict’s feast is a favorite of summer — many families keep a blessed Benedict medal by the door. Ss. Joachim & Anne, the grandparents of the Lord, are kept near the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly.
The long, slow weeks of summer are a gift for unhurried family prayer — a decade of the Rosary on the porch, or a saint’s story read aloud after supper.
